History of Steam Locomotives

Wade will present a brief history of steam locomotives in the United States. He will take us from the beginnings of steam overseas and how it ended up here in the US. Wade will show us how our region played an integral part in the advancement of the technology and likewise how our industrial revolution and the growth of our country benefitted by the advent of the railroad. He will also show how steam's played a role in two world wars and ultimately why electric and diesel technology banished steam to the history books.
