The following safety guidelines to be followed at Brookside Country Club: UPDATED 11/24/20
Masks can be removed for eating and drinking only but are expected to be worn at all other times, inside or outside. With the case count rising we are going to present to our membership that masks are always expected to be worn while inside and outside in dining areas.
BCC purchased a stand-alone thermometer that will be arriving this week for the foyer. It will be constantly on. Guests simply stand in front of it and it reads your body temperature. It will give you a single beep if someone is good to go, but it will set off a mini alarm if someone tests high. If you test high you need to retry, and if you test high again you are expected to leave the building immediately.
Tables will be set 6 ft apart to observe social distancing and each table will seat only 5 people.
There will be multiple hand sanitizer stations located throughout the Clubhouse. We encourage guests to use hand sanitizer upon arrival and throughout their time at Brookside.
Buffets will now be served by staff of Brookside (gloves will be worn by those serving food.)
Coffee will also need to be served (no station) and we will have to utilize single use packets such as salt, pepper, creamer, ketchup, and syrup.
It is imperative that if they feel sick or have contracted COVID - 19, you must stay home.
Please contact Lexa, Mike, or Meghan if you have any questions. Please also review the Rotary District Covid-19 Guidelines in this newsletter.

Last week our 2020-2021 District Governor Janet Kolepp visited Emmaus Rotrary Club via Vox Tandem. Janet delivered a top notch presentation giving us an overview of District 7430's accomplishments and goals for the 2020-2021 Rotary Year. In true Rotarian ingenuity fashion DG Kolepp made the sure to make her virtual talk interactive by embedding QR Codes for our members to gain quick access to helpful links such as the Rotary Learning Center. (https://learn.rotary.org/) We are encouraged to visit the Rotary Learning Center to explore the vast opportunities available to us to grow our knowledge and impact our club. There are many training modules of interest for all members to learn from; and now every Rotarian in the world has access to Toastmasters International leadership and communication training through a joint initiative with Rotary International. (Talk about adding value to our Rotary membership right!!! So be sure to check it out!)
Janet reviewed the importance of Rotary's public image campaign to spread the word about Rotary's service work through various social media outlets now including a LinkedIn page for District 7430. If you are on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn be sure to follow these pages and share. If you have questions about the public image branding of Rotary please contact our very own Valerie Deneen who is serving as our District Branding Ambassador this year.
For anyone who would like to get to know who our District Organizational Officers are please use the link below to become familiar with those serving on a the district level to help our clubs in any way they can.
Of course Membership took the stage as a critical component to the future of Rotary through engagement and growth of new memberships. How can we continue to think outside of the box to make Rotary more accessible to more potential members? How are clubs working to ensure that we cultivate a diverse, equitable and inclusive Rotary culture? Click on this link to learn more and view the video Janet shared in her presentation that is embedded on the webpage. https://my.rotary.org/en/learning-reference/learn-topic/membership

The dinner to recognize Past President Steve Gould for his leadership is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. at Brookside Country Club. Let's give our Past President some props for always bringing his "A game" and a smile no matter what.
The cost per guest is $50.00. Please r.s.v.p with Rick Zayaitz

69,000 of our neighbors in the Lehigh Valley are predicted to go hungry this year. Help them with your garden, one pound at a time!
It is almost the end of the growing season in our gardens. Tony Moyer continues to collect your Plant A Row produce donations on Thursdays. You can drop off your donations at Willow Lane Elementary School by 4:00 pm. (6135 Sauerkraut Lane, Macungie, PA 18062) Please simply leave your bagged and freshly washed veggies at the front door of the school. All of food collected goes to the 6th St. Shelter.
If you'd like to bring your donations to our in person meetings, Sue Wenner has volunteered to serve with Tony on the Plan A Row Collection Committee and would be happy to drop off our weekly collections to the school after our meeting. If you have any questions please contact Tony at anmoyer1229@yahoo.com

Open a door and connect with other district Rotarians. This is an opportunity to share your clubs locale as well as Rotary ideas. Covid has made our world virtual; however, following PA state as well as district covid guidelines we can meet up outdoors in limited numbers social distancing with masks and sanitizer in hand.
A participating club would arrange to meet at a mutual location and time and then the other club would reciprocate. I will be coordinating clubs as well as individual participants. Let’s join together in friendship and grow to know one another.
If you or your club would like to participate or desire more information please email me at deeleng@gmail.com or call my cell 610 428 3355.
COVID-19 is impacting us all in our personal, professional and Rotary lives. We must base our decisions about Rotary activities on the health and safety of our members and compliance with government and health regulations. Even though we may not be able to conduct the usual weekly in person meetings, many of our clubs are leading or participating in food and other relief programs in their communities. These efforts will likely be continuing through the balance of this Rotary year and into the future.
With this in mind, the following are guidelines for all Rotary District 7430 activities:
All guidelines set forth by the Governor, counties and other authorized persons in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the CDC should be followed.
Should any Rotarian be diagnosed with or have symptoms that they suspect to be consistent with COVID-19, that Rotarian shall:
Not participate in any Rotary event that involves a personal appearance at the event.
Report their diagnoses or symptoms to the Rotarian supervising any program in which they have participated in-person within fourteen (14) days before the diagnoses or occurrence of symptoms.
We also suggest that you adopt guidelines for your clubs that reflect the current health crisis.
Welcome to the Emmaus Rotary Club!
We meet at 7:30 AM on Thursday mornings
at Brookside Country Club, 901 Willow Lane, Macungie, PA 18062
