Management is doing things right. Leadership is doing the right things. Peter Drucker
July is Leadership month for Rotarians around the world and I can’t think of another word that better describes the Rotarians that I know. When I think of our club and the many projects that I’ve seen take place since I joined in 2004 that raised money or helped others in need I think of Rotarians taking the lead …mulch at the Hillside School, feeding East Penn students, planting trees, helping at the Miracle League games, flags in our community, dog walking, raffles, Halloween parade help, weeding at the Remembrance Garden, running seven fundraisers, and the list goes on. Sometimes it’s a person or persons with a vision who makes it into a reality such as creating a memorable Passing the Gavel ceremony or facilitating a Fellowship FunWay Speech Picnic. Who did these things…yes, leaders in our Club.
Perhaps the key leaders in our club are the Committee Chairs because that’s where the behind the scenes work gets done in an organization of almost 100 members. Our Committee Chairs do an awesome job keeping us focused on what’s important and getting things done not for any glory, but, with the knowledge that their efforts are helping people locally and globally. Many thanks for their day to day and week to week leadership of the many small things that make our organization so successful.
As members we are all responsible for making each week's meeting a success. Beginning this week we shall resume listing the weekly assignment in the newsletter so please see below to verify who has what in-person meeting assignments. PLEASE NOTE: If you prefer NOT to be on this list or if you prefer NOT to be given a specific assignment, please let me (Sal) know via text, phone call or email. I will respect any requests.
The assignments below are selected from our membership list and are in alphabetical order (or close to it). Should you be unavailable to make it to the meeting to fulfil your assignment, please do one of the following:
- Switch with someone else from another week.
- Contact another member to fill your slot.
- If either one of the above attempts is unsuccessful, please notify the Trumpet Editor ASAP.

She strives to provide culturally informed, and patient centered care tailored to each individual and values the meaningful connections made with her patients. She is dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. (Again WOW!) This allows her to treat each patient with a holistic approach. Her goal is to provide a personalized psychiatric medication management experience for every patient at Meribah Clinic. Eileen has extensive experience in dealing with diagnosis such as ADHD, ODD, Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Insomnia, Dementia. They provide Genesite services to interested patients.
Eileen has a treatment approach that is collaborative and specialized to the needs of each individual patient, and accept most types of insurance. In her spare time (when ever that is) Eileen enjoys travelling, cooking and going for long drives with her husband and three children. Eileen is committed to providing compassionate, empathetic, care. Changing one life at a time.
DON'T FORGET - This is our food collection week. Ralph Lewis will be standing by the check-in-table to collect food for the needy. Please bring any non-perishable food and Ralph will make sure that it gets delivered to the food bank. In lieu of food, Ralph welcomes and collects donations which will also go to the food bank. Lastly for those in Virtual Land who would also like to donate food, Ralph will wait for an additional 15 minutes after the meeting if you want to stop by the Brookside CC and drop of some food donations. The Emmaus Rotary Club thanks everyone for their generosity!
This is a new year and now we can return to some kind of normalcy here at Rotary. Any that means the return of Meeting Fines!!! Our Sergeant At Arms has alerted us that he will be fining people ($2) for what has become the policy offense of this club such, but not limited to the following:

August is Membership and New Club Development Month, when Rotary Clubs, around the world focus on membership in Rotary. Does your club have a plan? Are you executing your own plan to invite your friends and business associates to join your Rotary Club?
It’s time. Time to celebrate your Rotary club, your members, and the good you do in your community and around the world......
There are many ways to join in the celebration, but here are a few activities to get you started:
Say it loud, say it proud! Let everyone in your social network know that you are a proud member by changing your Twitter and Facebook profile to the I’m a Proud Member,I’m a Proud Rotaractor, or I am a Proud Interactorgraphic. Copy and save the graphic as your profile picture for August.
We Are Rotary. Using the hashtag #WeAreRotary, post photos to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Vine of your club members at work in your community or abroad to show how Rotary makes a positive impact in the world.
Making a difference. Rotary clubs are known for the high-impact service projects they undertake locally and globally. Share stories about your service projects and how they improve lives on Rotary Showcase. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see what Rotary members around the world are doing to celebrate Membership Month.
What does Rotary mean to you? Rotary members have pushed polio to the brink of eradication, delivered clean water to those in need, improved their local communities, provided scholarships to the next generation of peacemakers, and continued to do good in the world.
