“Let us pick up our books and our pens. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”
― Malala Yousafzai
An Important Month
Sometimes you just get lucky and this was my month. There are lots of things we could do for Basic Education and Literacy Month but giving the Emmaus Library $500 for a laminator to upgrade their program is certainly gratifying and very much appreciated. Also, thanks to Rotarians Ceil Birdsell and Joe Pugliese for serving on the Emmaus Public Library Board…great role models for all of us.
Service Above Self
Wheels of Time – always fun doing an early shift with a hard-working fun crew. Thanks to everyone who helped out at the Wheels of Time.
Lots of good volunteering in the works…September 16 packing items for Turning Point and Make a Difference Day with at least 5 different service activities that day…Nicole and Karen are busy so please get your name onto a sign-up sheet! Check out the Trumpet articles to sign up for the September 16 articles that are needed.
Lots of Ways to win
It’s summertime and the winning is easy…or at least the chances to win are easy to buy! Golf outing raffle tickets are at ERCgolf.com or talk to Mario or Rick and the Topless Motorcycle Poker Run tickets are only $10 each [3 for $25!] from Mark Erle. Both of these super events raise money for the many projects that we are currently doing or are in the works…please help out if you haven’t already.
