**President Rick is asking that all members make a voluntary donation at this week's meeting that will go toward the purchase of a second Shelter Box from the ERC in an effort to help the many who need our help around the world.

After checking in with his officers and board members, President Rick Zayaitz is asking all Emmaus Rotarians to contribute toward Shelter Box, each $1000 we send equips and sends one Shelter Box. Our annual budget earmarked $1000 toward Shelter Box and this money is now released and forwarded. Can we do more?

Club Presidents: District Governor Cindy Hornaman asked me to share the following email from ShelterBox with all of you.

Dear <Cindy>,
Cyclone Idai ripped through Southern Africa and millions have been affected in Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe after what the UN says could be the worst natural disaster ever to hit the southern hemisphere. Floods have affected almost 1 million Malawians and forced at least 125,000 from their homes and sadly these numbers continue to rise.

ShelterBox is determined to reach as many families as possible.

ShelterBox has a team en route to Malawi to assess damage to homes and to coordinate support for families to recover as the floodwaters recede. We will ensure aid items like ShelterKits, water filters, mosquito nets, solar lights and cooking supplies are ready to help families as soon as possible by working with Rotary District 9310 and other in country partners and the local government.

The scale of damage is massive with roadways completely cut off and families evacuating to rooftops while they await rescue.

Your support of ShelterBox will reach families who are experiencing one of the most devastating times in their lives.

Please share this email with the Rotary Clubs in your district to let them know about this devastating storm and give if you can. Help ensure that the people of Malawi are not forgotten during this time of destruction. For more information visit www.ShelterBoxUSA.org/Malawi
