President's Message

Greetings everyone!

Sorry I will miss you all this week, but I’m sure our President elect, Nelly, will do a great job. She just had a weekend of training at PETS, so ask her what she has learned. I was pleased to see 6 of you on Zoom last week. Some from far away. This is great. Unfortunately, there will not be Zoom this week since I won’t be able to set it up.

This week’s speaker will be really good and I’m sorry I will miss it. Becky Bradley will be chatting on all the planning going on for our region’s future. Plan to attend and get the inside scoop on the future..

Bring on the plastic! We are very close to reaching our 1000 lb. target for Meghan’s bench. This is great that as a Club we have removed so much material out of the landfills. We only need less than 129 pounds by April 1st .

See ya next week!

The Prez.

P.S. I know lots of us travel and miss meetings, but you can always check in with us on Zoom while sipping
your morning coffee, tea, orange juice, or favorite adult beverage depending on your time zone. See notes
below. Sorry no Zoom this week since I won’t be there to set it up.
Happy March Birthday!

NexTrex Recycling Challenge

Dear Rotarians!

We know you love a challenge Emmaus Rotarians!  So we've signed up for the NexTrex Recycling Challenge.

The goal: Collect 1000lbs of soft plastic that would otherwise end up in a landfill by April 1, 2025.

The Reward: NexTrex will give Emmaus Rotary a park bench made from recycled plastic that we can use wherever we want!
The Plan: There will be multiple places to contribute your collected soft plastics. Meghan Reed and Ron Beitler are designated members to make drop offs and submit weigh ins at drop off locations.

1) Bring your plastic to an ERC Night Shift Meeting (the 3rd Wed. of every month at Rising River 5:30pm)

2) Bring it to a Morning Meeting and give to Meghan Reed.  (Please give me a full bag of collected plastic. Not a few items at a time)

3) Bring it to Eric J. Loch Diamond Jewelers (3370 Lehigh St. Allentown.)

The Details: IT IS IMPORTANT WE FOLLOW THE GUIDLINES ON WHAT WE CAN COLLECT. WE WILL NOT TAKE ITEMS NOT ON THE GUIDLINES.

Contact Meghan Reed with questions or ideas on how we can increase our impact! Maybe you can become a collector at your business?
Bob Hobaugh presented at last week's breakfast meeting. He focused on his recent Rotarian experience in Haiti.
