50/400/10,000
Oh Hello Emmaus Rotary Friends!

IT IS CRUNCH TIME! Our MAJOR Fundraiser for the year is just around the corner? I'm sure you've heard mention of the 15th Annual Golf Tournament, right? Have you marked your calendar for Monday, September 12th?  Have you invited someone to participate? Have you scored your raffle tickets yet????

YES! Now is the time leading up to the tournament where we come together to sell these raffle tickets.  Raffle tickets are ONLY $50. There are ONLY 400 to be sold.  WIN CASH MONEY...$10,000 IN TOAL PRIZE MONEY.

THIS IS KIND OF A BIG DEAL!  The goal for our event is $30,000. That is $30,000 that we will put to WORK in 2023/2024.

SO....how many friends can you text, call or email TODAY to help them win big?  I encourage you to give 5 people the opportunity to win big this week!

HOW do I get my tickets you ask? Where do I send my friends to purchase tickets you ask? EASY!  CLICK HERE   or get a bunch at the next Club meeting. See Sue Wenner.

P.S. You can sign up for the tournament or the reception on our website too! We NEED golfers!!!
P.P.S Do you have an idea or a contact for a desirable silent auction package?  Contact Joanne Smida!

See the good. Be the Good. Inspire the good in others!

  Imagine Rotary 2022 - 2023

Rotary International Theme for 2022-2023
Have you heard? Rotary International President-elect Jennifer Jones (who is also
our first female president) has announced the 2022-23 theme Imagine Rotary.
β€œImagine, a world that deserves our best, where we get up each day knowing that
we can make a difference.”
The theme is a special one: the theme graphic was designed by an Australian
Indigenous artist to link with the Melbourne Convention in 2023.
Some of the symbolism includes:
Circle connections to one another
Dots around it - our people
There are 7 Dots for Rotary's 7 areas of focus
Circle + dots around it - a navigation star, our guiding light
Green solid line - digging stick (used when doing hard work); for us it's People of
Action, represents the tools for getting things done
The colors purple, green & white - celebrate diversity, equity and inclusion
Freedom to express ourselves differently but still with a special connection
Purple is also the color of Rotary's Polio campaign
Green represents the Environment
White stands for peace; it also represents Empowerment and Newness and also
the colors were utilized for the women's movement, highlighting the opportunity
to grow our female membership.

Do you love the idea of helping young people become more confident, connected, and cultured?
Are you well organized, a strong communicator and coordinator? The Youth Exchange program is looking for you!
This is the perfect way for you to leave a lasting impact in the world.
Our friend and current Chair, Rose Galeano-Phillips, will be moving on and is ready to share this opportunity with a new leader in ERC.  We thank Rose for the outstanding service she has given to ERC through this role (and much more). Rose you are wonderful, and we appreciate all you have done for the young people who have benefited from this program.  We are truly grateful for your service to Emmaus Rotary.

Think you’re up for making a big difference? See below to learn more about this very important role in ERC.  Please contact Meghan Reed with your interest.

Rotary Youth Exchange builds peace one young person at a time. Youth Exchange Committee involves 4 distinct activities that together create the Youth Exchange Experience. Inbound coordination between our club, our Rotary District, and East Penn School District. Outbound recruiting for long-term and short-term exchanges. Youth Exchange Counselor who connects with the inbound student regularly to make sure everything is going well. Host Family Coordination that includes recruiting and assistance in the vetting process. This club is active throughout the year.

Last week's meeting snipits
A huge thank you to all who came out last week.  Our new site went quite well.  There are always things that change and we will work out little kinks as they appear.  Let's put on a good show this week for our District Governor and show him how adaptable our Club is to change.
Let's remember to support Roger, Gary and the entire Centennial Committee in preparations for a really fun 2025 year.

Flag Program
It's not to late to be part of our Flag fund raising program to support our Feeding Program.  You and your neighbors can just go to Flags.EmmausRotary.org and sign up.  The program rate is adjusted to the time you sign up.  Our goal is 150 flags this year and we are over half way there so far.  Door hangers will be available at this weeks meeting.  This program can easily grow to 1000 flags.  A tiny area in NH has 500+ flags.  We can surely beat this.

Thanks for your help and support.

Rotary and BEYOND
Emmaus Rotarians truly do live a lifestyle of Service Above Self!
Many of us help with other organizations to raise funds for great causes.  If you wish to mention your outside fund-raising event at Rotary, just put up four Happy Dollars and let us know about what is going on.  If I have a website link to your cause I will post it here.

Ex.  I support the PA. Perimeter Ride Against Cancer which benefits the American Cancer Society and Dream Come True.

Check out some of the great work our fellow members are doing in our community outside of Rotary and learn how you can support their efforts.

Bob Halsey's Keeping Tabs on Us!

Can Tabs For The Miracle League LV / Submitted By Bob Halsey

In 2018 We started collecting the Tabs from all types of cans Soda, Beer, Seltzer, Tuna Fish, Sardines, Soup Cans, Etc. In 2018 we were able to deliver Five Full One Gallon Jugs of Tabs…Last year, 2019 we were able to deliver Three Full One Gallon Jugs of Tabs. So far this year 2020 we now have One Full One Gallon Jugs. I would hope we can again this year, 2020, can fill at least another Five Full One Gallon Jug OR MORE. I turn these into the Miracle League in the Middle of October, right before Halloween. They turn them into the Dupont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington Delaware. Other organizations also collect these Tabs, in total the Hospital has been able sell these for enough Money to pay 75% of the Utilities Cost in their Ronald House, where Families to stay at a very Nominal Cost when their Handicapped Children need to go for Treatment. You can bring Tabs every Thursday to our regular Breakfast Meetings.

Meghan's tab collection pictured. How is yours looking?
