Al Ruozzi of America on Wheels Museum

Al Ruozzi, founder of America on Wheels, presented at last week’s Rotary meeting. His presentation included museum history and global automotive insight. He highlighting how the museum's exhibits range the history of the automotive, showing us examples of very old machines. He also dove into Brazil’s automotive history, how the country closed its borders to imported vehicles for 14 years, sparking a uniquely self‑reliant industry that leaned heavily on ethanol as a primary fuel source. His storytelling made it clear that the museum isn’t just about cars.

Al also reminded us  that the first car ever built in the United States was assembled in Allentown at 4th and Linden, something many of us had never heard before. He talked about international automotive evolution and our own community’s pioneering. We left with an appreciation for the museum’s work and a sense of pride in our region’s contributions to automotive history. For anyone interested in exploring further, visit the America on Wheels Museum. I will.
