FOR ERC MEMBERS: This will replace the weekly morning meeting on March 2nd and be a great time for Rotarians to meet the students. There will not be a morning mtg. on March 2nd.
The Interact club led by Mrs. Kaunitz completed Campus Clean Up service project around the High School. They took the time to clean up trash and make the school a better place for the rest of us. We have an awesome Interact Club!
Launching Wednesday, March 29th. 6-8pm, at Rising River Brewing in Lower Macungie The plan: Start as a Once-a-Month ADDITIONAL meeting opportunity for ERC. Morning meetings aren't stopping!
You may have heard the fantastic news that thanks to the hard work and dedication of the ERC Membership Committee we have a NEW and IMPROVED way to grow our Club! We have entered the digital age, and everyone can be a part of it!
Here's the deal! After you have invited an interested person to join us for a meeting and that person is excited about joining, you simply complete a Prospective Member Referral Form!
Ask Mike Waddell or Wade George, for the paper form, fill it out, and turn it in to either Gina Vary or Wade George.
Either avenue will streamline our application process and help new candidates join FASTER! It is super important that we all get on board with helping our Membership Commitee with this important step. It ensures that none our guests who are interested in joining Rotary get lost in the shuffle. We want to show people who are interested in joining our Club that we are a welcoming group and on top of things! We often promote the fact we are "People of Action"....so we need to live up to it!
I'd like to take a moment to thank the entire Membership Committee. There are a lot of moving parts and sub-committees that are taking ERC to the next level.
Co- Chairs Wade George and Gina Vary are doing some very heavy lifting to implement the "FRIORE" Membership Model brought to us last year by Past President Mike Waddel. Many hours of work have gone into this!
Valerie Deneen is the ClubRunner Module Guru! Bringing helpful tech tools to our Club and working on some really neat Public Image Campaigns on social media.
Mike Waddel is busy scheduling meetings with about 6 people interested in joining ERC! Mike the FR in FRIORE. (Find and Recruit)
Peter McCullough is gearing up to launch a monthly evening meeting opportunity at Rising River Brewing in Lower Macungie! This will attract new members and re-engage current members that can't make mornings! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 29th if you are interested in "The Night Shift" (not sure what we are calling it yet but that sounds catchy for now)
The Retention Sub-Committee has been connecting with Members that we have been missing! And we have seen some of our Friends return to meetings!
I am confident that we are going to end this Rotary Year stronger than ever!
Shine Bright Friends! And Bring a Guest to Rotary!

On 3/19/23 is the next bingo for this great organization and they could still use some help.

1. We could help make baked goods for them to sell at the bake sale the day of the bingo event. (eg. a few cookies in a small baggie).
2. We could donate any type of $20 gift card for them to use in their raffle baskets the day of the bingo event.
Both of these can be dropped off at Karen Hobson's home 2 Stoklea Drive, Emmaus. The gift cards can be dropped off any time but the baked goods can be dropped off on Saturday, March 18. Karen's cell number is 484-560-1711.

Thank you for your dedication, leadership, and support on behalf of The Rotary Foundation. As a leader in Rotary, you play an essential role in ensuring that Rotary Foundation programs can continue to create positive and lasting change in your community and around the globe. One way you can help Rotary continue to do good in the world is by encouraging members to enroll in Rotary Direct, our Foundation’s recurring giving program.
Last year, our Foundation raised over $434 million and funded more than 1,190 global grants, 470 district grants, and 225 disaster response grants to help communities thrive. Rotary Direct is one of the easiest and most secure ways for our donors to support the Foundation: because contributions are automated, donors don’t need to worry about sending checks or remembering to make an annual contribution on time.
Rotary Direct saves time and reduces administrative costs. Monthly, quarterly, and annual gift options are available. Members can enroll at the Rotary Direct page, return a completed Rotary Direct enrollment form, or enroll by phone by calling the international office that serves their area or +1-866-976-8279 if in the U.S.
Another terrible disaster has struck this time in Turkey affecting thousands of people and many Rotarians.
ShelterBox is launching an emergency fundraising appeal. Your support will contribute to our Turkey and Syria Earthquakes response as part of our general fund. We believe that the best way for us to be impactful is by staying flexible, and it is essential that we have funds available to support those affected by disasters around the world.
ShelterBox provides different combinations of emergency shelter and essential household items depending on what is needed. This could be tents and shelter kits, stoves, thermal blankets, and clothing to keep people warm through the freezing winter nights. It could be cash to help people buy what they need to survive. Or it could solar lights that help people when there is no electricity.
Club and district support is desperately needed so we can reach survivors in the aftermath of this disaster.
