International Women's Day
Sixty rotarians and guests gathered at the Mercantile club this Thursday morning to celebrating International Women's Day.
Helen Fosam was presented with the "International Women's Day Community Award." She founded the nonprofit MiLHO (Missing Link to Improve Health Outcomes) which addresses a critical barrier to health equality access to reliable culturally appropriate health education.
Janet Kolepp was presented with the "International Rotary Woman's Day Award." She Has a long resume of volunteer work with Rotary including being president and District Govenor,, starting a food service program at the Bethlehem Emergency shelter and funding collaorations with Kenya and hosting 5 exchange students.
Thank you to Alicia Ruiz-Orbin for organizing another moving awards ceremony (with her committee), to Kwinn and Dee for presenting and to Dough Reichley for procuring the awards & citations.

Rotary International was founded on February 23, 1905, when attorney Paul Harris and three friends formed the first Rotary Club in Chicago, Illinois, to create a fellowship of business professionals. Since its founding, Rotary has grown into a global service organization with over 46,000 clubs and 1.4 million members worldwide. The organization became international in 1910 with the establishment of a club in Winnipeg, Canada, and adopted the name Rotary International in 1922 after expanding to six continents. Over the years, Rotary has been involved in numerous humanitarian initiatives, including the global fight against polio, education programs, and community development projects. As of 2026, counting from its founding in 1905, Rotary International has been active for 121 years, continuing its mission of service above self and fostering international understanding and goodwill.
FOUR-WAY SPEACH CONTEST
This weekend, the North Region District 7430's 4-way speech contest took place at Juxtahub. Our Emmaus student, Krishna, was awarded second place. He competed against Whitehall Allentown West, Nazareth and Bethlehem clubs.
A big thank you to Tony Moyer for organizing the event and to Roger W, Cynthia, Doug and Alicia for their help.
