Q & A for tasks:
Where you have listed the times for the activities - do you have an expected finish time? Each day of the show the finish time will be noon followed by a free lunch. July 24 and July 31 have other finish times. They usually end 3-4 hours after start. Nobody is asked to work beyond his or her capacity. Are there any physical requirements for the job - Registration Tent - for all the participants into the park - is this a desk job? It is a walking job. We will walk about 10 steps from the tent to the vehicles entering from Route 100. Registration needs people to pick up the vehicle materials and take the to the vehicle next to the registration tent.
Parking Directions - Walking and Directing cars to parking spaces? People who direct motor vehicles stand in the area set aside for each class of vehicle. Our goal is to have vehicles park next to each other in rows. While a row is filling, the volunteer will have to follow the open spaces. This is an important goal.
Was not sure of Pin Location or Stake out duties, if you can briefly explain - and how long would this take? Each task is about 3 hours. We have a metal detector to find pins. Staking out follows course and distances from pins and hammering stakes in the ground. We have the stakes and hammers but volunteers might want to bring their own small sledge hammers.
What gate should a volunteer arrive at, and parking etc. Whose name, contact details for any further questions especially on their arrival at the park? Upon arrival at the park, all volunteers proceed to the Shafer-Wendling Pavilion. It is the building across from the pool at the far end of the pool parking lot.
ERC volunteers will work with Ontelaunee AACA volunteers who have been doing these tasks for many years.
