At our regular Thursday morning meeting on March 28th, Rotarian Sal Verrastro described how the East Penn School District Education Foundation is "moving into high gear" to support the development STEAM areas of Science, Technology. Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics which are the pilkars of critical thinking, innovation and problem-solving. With no overhead, the all volunteer groups awards Innovator Grants throughout the school district.Other Emmaus Rotarians on the Foundation Board include John Zayaitz, Byrce Ruggieri, and Laura Groh.
On a personal note, I want to thank Sal for stepping up with this program when we learned the scheduled speaker had the flu. "Thanks, Sal!"
It was a great feeling that 3 Rotarians have now told me that they could be tapped at the last hour if another speaker cancels. Please continue to give me program ideas! We are now scheduling in July and August.
Yours in Service,
Lexa Shallcross
