Many thanks to our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group that has met several times over the past 10 months or so to consider where we are in terms of being a Welcoming Club to all who attend. Data have been collected and dissected, speakers discussed, and a presentation will be made on August 12 about their work. An important part of this process involves this week’s speaker, Peter Jones, who will talk to us about the DEI information from RI and District 7430. This is an important overview that I viewed several weeks ago, and I believe gives a good context to the work of the DEI working group…please be sure to attend at BCC or virtually.
Committees are the heart and soul of our club. We see each other infrequently so committees do their work in the background and periodically report on their progress. Many thanks to the Committee Chairs who keep things moving toward the goals listed in our 2021-2022 Action Plan.
This week there will be two clipboards passed around. One will have the existing standing committees and the membership therein and the other will be a list of members with their committee affiliations listed (these should match!). Please make sure your listings are correct and now is the time to make changes if you want to join and/or leave a committee. It’s important that you are where you want to be doing the service that is meaningful to you. Please talk to me or the Committee Chairs if you have any questions.
