Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” – James Baldwin

Sigh…this week we are gathering at the Emmaus Remembrance Garden after our June 2 regular meeting to remember Wilmer, Dale and Gordie. I truly wish that I had gotten to know these guys better years ago when I joined our club. They were excellent Rotarians, all past presidents of the club, solid businessmen and their biographies read like something from a rags to riches novel in some cases. However, as a young Rotarian I was too much in awe of them to really engage them and learn from them. Sigh…big loss for me. Now I know that these three were always willing to help others, give sage advice and lived the 4 Way Test in their personal and professional lives.
Sigh, so what? Well, let’s try to learn from each other NOW in whatever ways we can. Is there someone that you’ve thought about chatting with, well, do it. Have you sat at the same table for breakfast for the past ??? years, well move around, what can it hurt? We are all really good people with much to offer and fellowship and learning from each other is the best thing we can do to help ourselves and our club, Sigh, in my very humble opinion of course.
